I didnt mean to abandon the blog, just that the overwhelming presence of Facebook, Twitter and the such had impeded me to write in this medium.

Anyway, my old computer in which i kept my shitty arts has long been dead. I coincidentally stumbled upon an old art, made when i was still in-between job in Singapore. It is a pity that i couldnt do any kind of graphic design in my brand new HP mini 2133, since the processor's performance is tad too weak. Maybe it is the right time to sharpen my manual skill in arts.

* Speaking of psychological framework, this post is a form of self-denial. My scattered brain is no longer able to digest any rigorous academic paper nor write a proposal with scientific approach, hence the post :(

** I once promised myself to enroll to a part-time diploma program in manga-writing or animation design when I reach Japan. I am in Tokyo now and still have to postpone the plan until-God-knows-when :(.

Apratz and The Short Story Chronicle

I thought I am just an individual with a mere passion towards writing but not necessarily equipped with the linguistic talent to write; at least that was what I believe since I was young, that my love towards writing is just one-sided xD.

It was still vivid in my mind when there was a short story assignment for my Literature class during my secondary school. I was so panicky since I was not really into writing. My dictions were all dreadful and the choice of words were in vain –and thing is, I ended up writing a short novella instead of a short story *grin*. The theme was pretty much influenced with the material that I read during that specific period of time –kindly take note that I have yet to know yaoi-related themes at that time, as I was still so pious xD. My first so-called novella is about a physically weak violinist and a precocious little girl who both involved in illegal drug traffic – a super corny romantic story, whatever, but good things often start in a corny way *grin*.

And yes, writing a short story (literally a story that is so short) was a pain in the ass, since I am not used to create a discreet storyline or a fragment of a long story. Though I may be a simpleton, my mind is pretty much tangled and twisted –hence this is the biggest impediment to write myself a short story. I used to complicate a small thing! My long lost friend once said that listening to the lyrics of good songs can induce a decent idea of a storyline, and right now I am still struggling to implement what she said.

To cut a long story short, I joined an online fiction writing class in order to train (and to discipline myself) to write on regular basis. Problem persisted when there was an assignment to write a short story about ‘mother’ with the following objective: “Altering a cliché theme into interesting theme”. I was like being thrown into the bottomless pit of the inferno. What should I write, I shivered. To be really frank, what comes on my mind was the portrayal of a female chimpanzee nursing its baby in the zoo (???). I will self humiliate myself and challenge my sanity in case I really write about that. During numerous presentations and project discussion at work, I kept thinking how to develop a theme about mother that is both ‘cool’ and ‘gruesome’ xD.

And finally, my accumulated intense hatred and frustration towards certain things have driven me to write about a devoted nun, a virgin-Mary-like, an enchanting beauty with the reddish long hair, a tender-loving-caring mother who has a vampire son being held captive in the underground tunnel of a cathedral *fiendish LOL*. Every night, this poor bloody Mary should feed her son with her own blood in order to prevent him to go outside and do random bloodsucking. To my surprise, I got 99.9/100 mark for this assignment, and the tutor mentioned that he was deeply impressed with the short story. I had tears of joy *sob sob* that finally I was able to create a decent short story xD.

Today I just got news that I won the Lip-Ice short story writing competition as Top Honorable Mention and I am so thankful even though I didn’t win cash prize xD. The short story revolved around gruesome (and incestuous?) love between an angelic handsome priest and his gullible phantom son –yes I know that this is bizarre but I am a bitch for the twisted love story. This has driven me to continue my on-going novel that is already 120 pages long –unfortunately I can’t recall the whole concept of the story as this project has been discontinued since a month ago. I need to sharpen my peculiar way of thinking and not to drag this any longer -_-“. Wish me luck.

And the chronicle is still on-going xD….

I lurve gruesome and twisted love story in 2D way (plus it has to be aplenty of bishounens inside); BUT I am an acute haemophobia. Yesterday I just made a fuss at NUS Medical Clinic coz they have medical check up for the staffs –and yes, I saw blood, my blood, during the blood-test. I was so dizzy and powerless after I saw my own blood. When I reached home, I need to spare myself 4 hours nap in order to replace my blood loss… argh!!!

Apratz is easily contented even though her mood often swings like emotional rollercoaster. Right after reading her collections of 'forbidden sweet manuscripts', she felt energetic already, charged her emotional powerhouse to the fullest *yeah!*, and started fantasizing and capturing those 'alluring and gorgeous scenes' in mind. Unfortunately she's still pretty much innocent, so she wasn't able to depict her craziest imagination into aesthetic work. She can only manage to finish this art just now.

My Boss will shout if she found out I am drawing this during working hours XD

Anyway, this moe-fanboy said that I am pretty much influenced by Clamp in terms of drawing style. In fact, NO! I am easily influenced by things that I am currently fond of. At one time, I was really into Kaori Yuki, and suddenly found my works resembling her gothic style. Another time, I was addicted to Yun Kouga's simplistic style, and ended up following her style unconsciously. Now I wonder, who is the manga artist that i am currently copying *grin*.

~ I guess my style right now is heavily influenced by things I am reading. Yes, it is Yaoi manga, not sure where exactly got this style though XD

Tribute to Uchiha Itachi

It happens on Wednesday night...

In the midst of work, i occasionally opened Narutofan forum to catch a sneak peak of the newest chapter of Naruto manga : The Uchihas Epic Battle.

And then i saw something that i refuse to believe...

I screamed so loud at once and created quite a commotion since some people were also staying back late at office (then they swamped me with a weird look)

I don't want to believe it.

No, in fact i REFUSE to believe.

There goes my heart. Sayonara Itachi-san, you have been utterly fabulous in 'defending' your Uchiha legacy, you have successfully stolen the spot from that Pedo-Oro, you have been an exceptionally wonderful villain with your artistic genjutsu and soft-spokenness, and you have gradually shifted my 'fangirl-ism overload' from your (bastard) little brother....

Hope you rest well in the Atziluth (or Gehenna?), and have a tranquil tea party with Sasori and Deidara.

These recent months I have been very busy looking for good story that I favor so much. Kindly note that it has to be bloody, angsty, has blatant ‘boys love’ aspect and full of controversy and lethal twist, so I guess it won’t be that easy to find at least one.

And then I am thinking, hey, why don’t I create one?

And so, it has been completed around 60% of total. Initially I planned to submit this so-called novel to one of teen-literature competition back in Indonesia, but then again, I got so pessimistic considering that it might not be suitable with the local taste. Moreover, the deadline will be on the 6^th of March. Well, looking at my current workload that enables me to work overtime until the end of March, I think that is not possible to aim for that competition. Let’s try to be more realistic (if not ‘pragmatic’). Forget that baby, lets make it for the personal consumption purpose instead!

Since I am a geek for those psychological and murder issue, the storyline has been centered around the themes of angsty, murder, unconditional love (and pretty much normal love as well!), not to mention it has abundant of characters having problems with obsessive compulsive, dependent, histrionic, pedophilic, narcissistic, emo =p, split personality disorder, superiority and inferiority complex, suicidal, psychotic, anti-social, and schizotypal (stop right here, otherwise I might end up copying from psychology textbook).

However, currently I am not in the mood to write, as the project has been discontinued since the beginning of February due to my crazy workload. As soon as I am done with office business, I will start writing again.

In a nutshell, Tsundere is referring to cold, harsh, blasphemous-mouthed, and strict girls that can turn out being caring, tender, loving when she’s alone. In Apratz’ Tsundere Host Club, we have boys behaving like Tsundere girls, just that they are guys!

Similar to Ouran High Host Club which artistically classifying sweet, tender, loving, caring guys into some archetypes, Apratz’ Tsundere Host Club does the same flawless formula! So, without further ado, here is the Tsundere boys’ list,

#1 Bloody Brotherly Love : Itachi and Sasuke

Itachi and Sasuke, what’s more can you expect? They love each other, from the bottomest of their heart, just that their ‘way of Tsundere’ makes them much more violent and rough in expressing their love (ex : killing all the remaining clan to provoke ‘foolish little brother’, run into a sick pedophile for obtaining power to get closer to Onii-sama, et cetera, et cetera). #2 Stoic Tsundere boy : Tieria Erde

Tieria Erde, a mysterious beauty and ultimate eyecandy from Gundam 00. A stoic looking guy who can only say ‘mission accomplished’ whenever is necessary and confront the rest of team in case anything out of plan has happened. He attracted both female and male audience of Gundam 00 (two of them are those perverted parties that we mentioned at the beginning).

#3 Sweet Tsundere boy : Wolfram von Bielefelt

Looking for a Tsundere boy with pink frilly sleeping dress that haunted your bed every night? Then Wolfram von Bielefelt from Kyou Kara Maou is for you! This sassy brat, foul mouthed, charming spoilt little Prince can be very sweet at times, and you can propose him into marriage just by slapping him on face!

#4 Loli-Shota Tsundere boy (or kid?) : Aoyagi Ritsuka

His notorious name is Loveless, and his interest is only older guys (feel sorry for girls). He can be a precocious brat that shouts at you at the first meeting! He can appear as a strong and problematic lad that melts older women’s heart (except his Mom). Yet afterwards, he will suddenly shed tears, being fragile, and in the end asked you to take a picture with him. He is very suitable with Thou with Onee-sama archetype *pointing oneself*.
